Hi Everyone, Unfortunately this will be our last post (from camp... not forever). :(  This is really sad for us, and we hate to leave. (Now onto the fun!!)

Today we were lucky enough to go berry picking. :)  We got to pick raspberries... LOTS and LOTS of raspberries. :)  Here are some photos!!

Well, we certainly enjoyed our week at camp.  We hope that you enjoyed it just as much as we did. :)  We will post soon (we promise).

Until next time (probably tomorrow),
Rachel, Kanani and Jess. :) :) :)

Scootering, and Wheelchairs... by Kanani

Hey Everyone,

We are sorry for the lack of posting.  Today though, we had a really fun activity.  We got to use the scooter, and wheelchair. :)  That was definitely a high-light of the day!  It was so fun.

We got to learn traffic rules, and how to be safe... we didn't have helmets, so it is kind of contradicting, but it was still a good lesson. ;0

Unfortunately, there were only 2 things (a scooter and a wheelchair), so one of us had to watch.  We got to help Rachel and it felt so good to be helping our sister.

Here are some photos of our day.

Rachel on the scooter (and me helping) and Jess trying out the wheelchair.  "How can you stand this Rachel?", asked Jess.  "I don't know.  I just don't know any different I guess.", replied Rachel!  Definitely a great conversation going on there. :)

me on the scooter.  that was definitely an experience... no more said. :)

I hope you enjoyed the photos. :)  Today was definitely fun.  That might have been the most fun day I have had at camp this week.  Unfortunately camp is over on Sunday and I haven't heard anything about extending it. :(
Have a great day,
Kanani

Cleaning the forest, a helping hand. by Rachel

Hey Everyone,

Today we helped to clean the forest that is near Pine Lake.  It was an awesome experience and I even got to help out. :)  As you know I am in a wheel chair because my legs don't work, and I rarely get to go in the woods because it isn't made for a wheel chair. :(  Today though, was different. :)

Today we had to weed the trail (which is hard work) and pick up litter. :)  You won't believe some of the items we found.  We found a foot ball, and a lot of bottles!  We put them all off to the side for compost.  Here is a photo:

I can't believe how much work we did today and how much fun we had!  It was such a great day and you got to go away with the feeling of helping out the community and others. :)

Have a great day,
Rachel

Crochet Lessons- by Jess

Kanani's flowery hair tie... made by Jess (crocheted)

Hey Everyone,
Today we learned got to learn how to crochet!  It was really cool, and really fun and easy!  I just made sure it was loose so I could see the loop on the hook go through. :)  I made a string probably 5 feet long. :)  I also made a hair band (with no elastic) that Kanani is modeling in the photo. :)  Once you get your chain as long as you want, just go through another part of the chain and then make another chain and then go through the original chain again (to make the petal part of the flower).  I will make a video sometime with help from Lily on it. :)

After crocheting, we got to make a head band (which Rachel took a photo of mine on me!).  Today's craft activity was so much fun. :)  Kelly has done a great job at picking activities. ;0  I am definitely glad camp was extended until Sunday... hopefully it will be extended again until the Wednesday after Sunday. :) That would be great!!

It was so much fun to be able to learn a new skill at camp. :)

Here is another photo of what we did. :)

Have a great day,
~Jess~

A Nature Hike- by Kanani

Hey Everyone,
First before anything else- I have some exciting news!  Our camp session has been extended!  We will be staying here through next Sunday now. :)   I am so glad we are allowed to have cell phones because I can call my parents and not only tell them (the camp has already told all the parents they could come pick everyone up, or let kids stay) myself, but talk to them.  A week without talking to parents is a long time!

Now for today's post:
Today we went on a Nature Hike in the Pine Mountains. :-)  It was a great day except that it started to rain at the very end. :(  Thankfully we were already at the car, I don't know what we would have done if it had come any earlier!

Jess was nice enough to take some photos of Rachel and me. :)  Here they are.

I hope you have a great day.

The Pine County Fair- by Rachel

Hey Everyone,

Today for camp, we went to the Pine County Fair. :)  It was so cool to be able to see other dolls, that people collect. :)  They are  I think the breakable kind though...  We also had breakfast there, as well as check out the 2 barns with goats, cows, bunny rabbits, and chickens.  It was so cool to be able to see those things since Kanani, Jess and I are all in 4H!  We do sewing.  It is so much fun. :0

There were probably like 12 bunny rabbits, and 24 chickens.  There was even a hen and her 4 babies.  It was too cute.  Thankfully, I was lucky enough to be able to get some photos the rabbits, and some of the other exhibits, as well as the hen and her 4 chicks. :)  (It reminded me of Liz, and Kit's Baby Chick Farm tour in 2009.)

Below are some of the photos I took.  Tomorrow Jess is posting about our nature hike!  I think Kanani is posting her pictures from the Pine County Fair. :)... they are mostly chickens and rabbits, and a few tractors (don't ask me why she took photos of tractors!).

I hope you enjoy the photos,
!!Rachel!!

Hey Everyone,
Sorry for the lack of posting. :-)  It was Rachel's turn to post yesterday but she wasn't feeling too well, poor thing. :(

Hopefully we can do a good job at posting photos frequently (like Lily is trying to) ;0.

Above is a photo of us with our findings. We came in 2nd!  You can't always be first is what Kanani said.  She's right ;0  Below- is a photo of just the items we gathered.

Picture
We had to find a fern leave (found by Rachel), a rock (also found by Rachel), a purple flower (found by Kanani), a yellow flower (found by me- Jess), and a maple leave (found by Kanani).  I am so happy that we won 2nd place, and best of all, had fun. ;)

We only have one more day of camp.  We are all going to Pine Lake County Fair. ;0  I can't wait. :)  We will be sure to post some photos. :)
Jess. :)

A Rainy Day at Camp- by Rachel

Hey Everyone,

Unfortunately today, we had a very rainy day at camp. :(  We had creative writing (blah!), but that was about all we did besides have fun in our cabins.

WE were suppose to have great weather tomorrow, but now it looks like it might rain tomorrow, or overnight.  If we get enough rain it could potentially cancel our nature hike.  I hope it doesn't rain.  Maybe one of these days we will have a perfect day!  A girl can dream right? :0 (Melissa Buckles)

I don't know who will be posting tomorrow, but hopefully we can have something real to say and some photos!  Sorry for the lousy update today. :0

Have a  good day,
!!Rachel!!

PS:  Lily posted today on the main page, and will be posting tomorrow on her blog.  I believe there will even be a video!! :)

A Mistake

Hi Everyone,

I hope you didn't all go by the book I told you we used today... that is the wrong book!  Here is a photo of the book that we really used (and this time I am not joking or lying! haha).
Picture
This is a great book... the but loop closure is a little tricky!  Lily is posting a video on Wednesday to help everyone make this work a little easier!

I hope nobody is mad at Jess!  Really- she is great, we just took a photo of each book and she just accidently posted the wrong one!

Have a great day

Jewlery Making- by Jess

Hi Everyone,

I am so happy that Lily set this up. :)  This will be so much fun. :)  I can't wait to hear some of your feed back. :)  Hopefully soon, we can get everyone to post... that would be at least 24 categories... just with the 21 American Girl Dolls... Lily has at least 10 more that would need to post too. :)

Today, we had a tour of the camp, and met all of the campers, there were 100 campers all different age ranges.  Some were 5 and some were almost 18!  That would be so exciting to be that old. :)

Today's main activity was jewelry making.  It was a lot of fun.  The necklace we made looks really nice on Kanani... and a similar bracelet looks great on me (according to Rachel).   I will show some photos in a slide show of the book we made them out of and some photos of a necklace just with ribbon on Kanani, and a bracelet on me. :)  You can click on the photos on the side to see them... you don't have to wait for them to appear big. :)
I have another photo of Rachel, I just have to find it... I will post it when I do. :)

Have a great day, Jess

PS:  There is a video coming soon on Lily's page I think about the 2 loops... that's why I mentioned it... the Button Loop Clasp is hard because sometimes the wire broke. :(  So we used another clasp demonstrated in the new video coming soon. ;)
