I just finished my first crocheting project. It is a hat for my dolls. You can see it in progress in this photo (above). I already started going around the edge... It was suppose to be
a pot holder. Here is the story.
At first my potholder looked like a potholder, then when I started to skip stitches and experiment, it looked like a sock, then a baby bath tub, cradle, and then a hat! I will have to start over on the pot holder, but that's ok. :)
For anyone who knows anything about crocheting, you know that you are suppose to turn around and double crochet back (or single); and not go around the ege. I started experimenting and went around the edge of the potholder. I also started skipping a few stitches. This is how I got the funny shapes.
Now; here is the photo. I might eventually be able to make some for a give away (no that is not the gift!). :) I hope you enjoy the photo. It was definitely a great experience for me. :)

PS: I hope you enjoy the Poetry Blender (new gadget on the blog side-bar). You might notice I had/ have a bigger version on the "Extras" page.
